Chelsea officially returned to European football for the first round in the UEFA Europa Conference League, with their Belgian opponents Genk as their welcome companions.
The first half saw the Blues continue their aggressive and solid form, able to fold the field and attack, passing the ball back and forth until the 12th minute when Renato Vega came up to head the ball on the left side to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Then they continued to attack but could not score any more goals until the end of the first half.
In the second half, the game had started less than a minute when Pedro Neto received a long ball and shot with his right foot into the near post, giving Chelsea a 2-0 lead before Tatsuyoshi Watanabe pulled one back to make it 2-1. Chelsea
then scored two more goals through Christopher Nkunku and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall before Omri Gundelman pulled one back to make it 4-2, but it was too late, giving the Blues their first three points in the Conference League.
Chelsea Player Ratings
Filip Jorgensen – 7/10
Did a good job of defending the goal, even after conceding two goals he didn’t show any mistakes today and he has good ball skills and feet which helps to break the pressure from the back.
Axel Disasi – 7/10
Assisted with a long ball to Pedro Neto early in the second half. Defensively he was solid, coming up to set up the attack and playing set-pieces and almost scoring.
Tosin Adarabioyo – 6.5/10
Acted as a central defender, controlling the defense today, and overall he did an okay job, although he struggled a little bit with helping with the attacking game.
Benoit Badiashile – 6/10
Today’s play was not in line, allowing opponents to pass too easily, which led to 2 goals that the team conceded. There was also a moment when he let the ball fall to the ground and was intercepted. However, the offensive game was considered to help the ยูฟ่าเบท https://ufabet999.app team quite well.
Renato Vega – 8.5/10
He was outstanding at left back, scoring a header to give the team the lead in the first half, and assisting another goal in the second half. He was strong, solid and very involved in the defense.
Cesare Casaday – 6/10
Overall, he is still a bit inexperienced. His passing is not as smooth as Enzo, Caicedo, or Lavia, so he is not very important in raising the level of the attacking game.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 7/10
Was up and down the pitch and helped in both attack and defense. Although he had a few chances in the first half, he unfortunately went wide. However, he made up for it in the second half with a left-footed shot to help his team lead 4-2.
Pedro Neto – 8.5/10
Today was outstanding and extremely dangerous. He was very involved in the offensive game, especially his speed to get the ball away from opponents, which was very useful for the team. His finishing was also sharp today, able to shoot with his right foot and hit the near post to give Chelsea the advantage.
Joao Felix – 7/10
Overall form is considered okay, but still cannot replace Cole Palmer. There were times when Felix showed off his skills too much, causing his teammates to lose their rhythm. However, there were good moments when Felix was diligent in chasing the ball, helping to get up and down to receive and pass the ball to make it easier for the team to play.
Mykhailo Mudryk – 7/10
He had 1 assist from a cross for Renato Vega to head the ball in and was able to use his speed to get past Genk’s defenders several times. Unfortunately, his final pass often missed the target, and his weaker left foot was also not very good. If he could improve this, it would be great.
Christopher Nkunku – 7.5/10
He continued to score goals, although he didn’t have many chances today, but when the ball came to him he was able to turn it into a goal. He also had several good link-up plays for his teammates.
